About an hour. usually a little less...

figure about 6 exercises.. 4 on the main muscle group I'm working, 2 on the secondary group.. Usually 3 sets per exercise with a 45-60 second pause between sets and a 3-4 minute break between exercises.

i usually wait like 1-2 min between sets and 4-5 mins between different lifts, so it takes me longer.

sounds fine to me..half the time spent in the gym for me is waiting for people to stop talking on their damn phones while sitting on the benches so i can do shit.

really? Does that mean I am not working hard enough?

I usually do 2 sets of 10. But I don't rest in between machines unless someone talks to me. Usually 9-10 machines. 20 minutes of Cardio, sometimes more depending on how I feel. As I am getting stronger I feel myself to be in there longer. I really don't want to get big, I want to lose weight.

I guess your only referring to lifting weight for more than an hour.

If you are ready to go again after 30 seconds, you aren't lifting hard enough.

not only that but there is lactic acid buildup after about an hour which can be detrimental to muscle growth...granted this all depends on how strenuous you're working out. my friend spends 30 minutes walking around and 15 actually lifting, but still thinks this applies to him

usually takes me about an hour

I use a stopwatch and keep a strict eye on my rest intervals

I will split it into two sessions if I need to do more

45-50 minutes seems to be lots. I go when the gym is empty.
