    Hi guys,

Here's a time lapse of the Milky Way Galaxy rolling over throughout an entire night.

I hiked up the mountain with two mates and we camped in sleeping bags on the summit all night while the camera and remote cable clicked away.

Heres the video link of all the photos stitched together ( A few stills of the countryside as and intro).

And the link to the other time lapses I have done.

I'm pretty sure Pink Floyd is responsible for many careers in astronomy and billions of dollars of sales in telescopes.

    Thanks guys.

Time-Lapse is a whole other ball-game. It's pretty interesting though and a lot of fun. Quite satisfying when it works out, very frustrating when it doesn't.

What sort of settings did you use for the star movements? I've been wanting to do a timelapse from up in the Blue Mountains/Oberon (where there's stars, unlike Sydney) for a while, just have no idea where to start with the camera settings.

G'day Brembo, it's all in the credits on the video mate, and a further explanation on the bottom of this page

    http://www.asignobservatory.com/widefield_and_time-lapse.aspx

With the Shorter lens though, I usually go for 40 second exposures with 8 second breaks (Just long enough for the camera to store the shote on the memory card before it takes the next one).

I have been using ISO1600, but I think it is worth smoothing it out a bit by going ISO 800, as long as there is not too much light pollution about.

    Cheers,

    Barry.
