    Hey guys,

there is something I'm not sure with the new time capsule (sorry if the question seems stupide) but can you only back up things or can you use it like any ordinary external Hard drive?

    Thanks.

I think you can use it for both.

It looks like a router/NAS homologation that Apple is marketing as a backup solution in conjunction with time machine, so it looks to be first and foremost a network drive.

Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (fucking iphone son: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

I think I'm going to pick up the 500gig one. I already have a terabyte hard rive that is filled up due to time machine. Time capsule for time machine and the external drive for extra storage

It's a hard drive, an 802.11n base station and it works with time machine if you have it.

I'm going to pick one up I think.

I should clarify. It's a "shared" network drive. Not an external in the USB/firewire sense.
