Throwing/dropping weights

    Why the hell do some people feel the need the throw down the dumbbells when they are done? I could understand if you are up over the triple digits, But throwing down the 40’s 50’s WTF? I hate that.:nono: You just repped 40 pounds on flat bench stand up and put them on the ground.:ugh2: No need to throw them down or drop them. Anyway another gym etiquette rant post shit bs…. Oh yeah to add to that I also hate the clinking of dumbbells together also, just open your eyes and look up or in the mirror.:hs:

    Id rather use a controlled drop when d-bell benching rather then risk fucking up my shoulder.

    Which makes sense if you're using 100 lb dumbbells

    40 or 50 lbs dumbbells won't fuck up your shoulder. Just put them back on your lap...

    i try to put them back on the ground as quietly as possible, but sometimes they make a little bit of a noise. Also i "clink" them together but they are rubber so it bothers noone :bigthumb:

    If you have a weak RC or are just weak in general then you'd be surprised what will hurt your shoulder.

    You know those big inflatables they have at kids birthday partys and stuff? I have a friend who is the most inactive person you will meet and he dislocated his shoulder in one of those. They look harmless dont they (like a 30lb d-bell)?

    But what about deadlifts?

    Cos my gym was complaining about the noise, t's not like I slam it down, but it's not a negative of course.

    I never make noise on purpose, so if you don't like it, you can fuck off.

    I got yelled at by the dickhead manager at my gym for dropping 100's and 110's a while back. IMO only a pussy would complain about noise in a gym.
    And I'd much rather have to re-weld the weights than have someone fuck up their back or shoulder.

    yeah sure then some fucking fag throws his 120lbs DB and it bounces and rolls into my leg. that guy then gets a 25lbs plate to the face.

    I put mine on my knees and kick myself up. I only use 75lb DB's though :hs:.

    I was putting up a 35 the other day and the 45lb plates on the rack were full, I brushed it and it fell down on my toe :(.

    When I used to work as a trainer for a gym...in 1991 :eek3:... my manager was late with my check and actually told me it was going to be a few weeks late. We were already getting paid only once a month. Anyway I threw a tantrum and tossed a 40lb dumbell against the wall. Fucking cracked it. Cool thing was I wasn't fired and recieved my check the next day.

    i love how people bitch about this online but dont have the balls to tell the person who is doing this to their face..

    i drop my weights when there is no one near me because my muscles are already exhausted from the set, why should i give a shit about some punk kid getting annoyed by the noise i make...

    i drop them controlled when i am doing db benches and flies. no one is around me when i go, so i don't really care

    i love clunking the plates when i do deadllifts :o
