Took this while drinking it tonight... mmmmmm....

Thinking I might use it for one of my assignments... I forget the title, but it's something about 'addictions or attachments one has that could be bad for them'... sort of thing...

Anyway, critique the shot. I like the general layout and look of the shot, anything I could do better and keep the same general look?

    nicer looking glass
lighting, the highlights are kinda ugly. long strips that accentuate an edge look the best

    glass looks meh.

either make it clean and clear or make it really sweat.
    Not halfway.

i know little about product photography, but i'd def clean up the dust/fuz on the table top, and the reflection of the room in th top of the bottle.

i agree on the glass sweat.

clean it, less space at the bottom, spray it with some mist, and light it well.

i think your highlights are a little harsh here.

i dont have a scan of this on this PC but see how the highlights here are soft and diffused? you can get this by increasing the size of your light source. you also have some distracting reflections in the whiskey bottle. did u end up using this for your assignment?

    I did not.

Instructor agreed with you, as did I once they were pointed out.

    Shot was weak.

The subject was also the 'lifestyle choice', which also happened to be the other pic you searched out my name for.

I struggled a lot with that subject, but luckily it was not one of the required pieces, and I managed ok without submitting a shot.

I still haven't come up with a good shot to fill that assignment, but I have continued to ponder it after the class ended.

The Whiskey was fucking awesome though.
