Not looking to get into precision but something that I can put a scope on and shoot at targets down range. I have an AR15 right now but was looking for something with a little more bang and range. If not the KT then what? Was looking at the savages but not sure if I want bolt action. I was thinking another rifle or save the money and put it towards the CA legal P90

    BTW I am in California..

I think the AR will give better accuracy then the SU, I'd go with the bolt if you want to do better then the AR.

How does a SU-16 give you more "bang and range" than an AR?

Shot my friends SU and according to the shoulder dyno it had a little more bang.. But this was also 2 weeks after I shot an AR and didn't compare side by side..

They're the same caliber not going to get more bang out of it, if you want more bang get yourself a Mosin.

it's probably due to the build quality of the su-16*, but i've never fired one so i wouldnt know. were you using the same ammo?

*or the fact that the AR15 is a better rifle

The su-16 is the same caliber, and the ps90 is a weak hangun caliber. If you want more power than 5.56 you need some guidance because your choices aren't so hot. Consider a mosin for a new rifle on the cheap if you like bang. If you want a little more heat for your ar15 buy a 6.8spl upper. A sks would be a cheap semi auto that has a little more pop to it. How much do you want to spend?

Reason I was going for the KT or Savage wasn't really for the power but I do enjoy shooting targets down range. The PS-90 wasn't for power just because i have had wet dreams about that gun since I was little and now we have a legal version in CA. The PS-90s are usually $1500+ and he was selling them for $1200

this is the second or third time you've said that you want an su-16 for shooting targets down range. is your AR not able to shoot targets down range?

and if you want some more beef, forget 6.8 get a .308 upper.

My AR doesn't have the optics for it. And instead of buying new optics I was trying to talk myself into a whole new gun. Since optics are the expensive part and not so much the guns.. The PS-90 was like I said a childhood bed wetter gun... So I guess I should have worded it like this:

Should I just upgrade my AR optics, buy a whole new rifle
because I am in the mood to buy a new gun, or buy my childhood wet dream the PS-90.

I was just trying to use any excuse I could think of to give my simple brain the reasoning to buy a new rifle. I am 110% happy with my AR and I love it. Sometimes a guy just gets an itch to buy something new :p.

Get new optics for your ar then, its the better gun than the keltec without a doubt. It just really depends on what you want to do. What range are you shooting and what sorts of optics does it have now? If you just want a new gun there's no reason to invent excuses, just get a new gun because they're fun. If your problem is sighting at hundreds of yards, getting a keltec isn't going to make you happier.

I just have an itch for a new gun, and I liked the way my friends shot. But I know my AR is a better rifle. I am just one of those people who doesn't spend their money easily and before I do anything I have to have a legit reason... If it makes sense or not.. :mamoru:

for that price you could get a great scope for an AR

edit: and not waste money on a crap rifle. if you really want another gun, get a bolt gun or maybe a handgun or shotgun.
