I've shot a couple of they're pretty nice, I like the m14 platform better for semi .308 but toss up between liking the FAL and G3 best for 2nd place.

I have but one though: SEXEEE!

Really though, I have always wanted one of these but I can't justify that much $$$ on a kit... What sort of accuracy do you get out of an FAL anyway? I mean as a battle rifle they're not really designed to be a long range tack driver are they? 2-3 MOA maybe??

I think the next time I'm in the market for a .308 it will be something sub-MOA but the FAL, M14, and Garand all have places on the list. Ah, if only I had all the money in the world...

Level of want is high however availability of funds is low. Feed the ARs is expensive enough, can't imagine trying to adequately feed a SA .308

My friend bought a 98% Springfield match FAL, thing is incredibly awesome.

Heavy as hell, but incredibly accurate and rugged.

Definitely on my do want list.

This. I'd like to have one but I doubt I'll ever both getting one for this reason, at least as long as I can stick to my "less guns more shooting" philosophy.

Actually ignorant fools in California you can buy brand new/build brand new AR's or any type of EBR with drop free mags if you use a non pistol grip stock like the monsterman or u-15.

Quite common to see new shooters at 3 gun matches with their non pistol grip OLL in CA w/ high cap mags they owned prior to the ban (or got from their last trip to las vegas but who can tell).

Anyway I got registered AW's so I'm better off than most.

I would say fixed 10 round mags are more bitch that a non pistol grip. I would have not problem shooting a u-15 stock if I didn't have registered AW's. I can actually work tighter shooting positions with it and have more options on barricade holds. I would not own a fixed 10 round rifle just for consmetics.
