Thinking about adding a new 1911 to the stable, looking to see about a 3 inch with an eye towards carry. Thoughts, ideas, good idea, bad idea, personal experience ect?

Basically I need something that I am going to practice with more than my j-frame, I love it for a few shots, but hate it after more than a few. I on the other hand simply adore my other 1911s they are simply too large for me to get away with carrying.

Oh and before it turns into a glock and XD fest in here, I have nothing against those guns, but they do not work for me and I'd rather carry my old german luger than either of them.

btw. capacity keeps me from carrying a 1911. that is the only reason.

Concealment method and clothing for me limit capacity. I think STI makes the 2011, basically a double stack 1911 . . . if that floats your boat.

In comparison to Kimber and SA Micro there are seemingly few complaints about the colt, I guess if it were not to run I would just hope colt's lifetime warranty could get it running.

Not a I bought a new gun thread, its a thinking of buying a new gun.

But since you asked so nicely here is one from a random photobucket

Looked into it. Not dropping 2K on a STI Tactical on something a Glock with a Glockworx trigger can do. Not quite the same as a SA, but fucking close.
