I'm looking at them right now, and really falling in love. Anyone here had experience with them?
It's gonna replace either my E36 or my maxima... excellent overall cars. They had a software issue that caused a few running symptoms like hesitation, etc. but most should be updated by now. If not, I don't think it costs more than $100 for BMW to do it if it's not under warranty or CPO. Obviously they require the typical BMW maintenance, but it isn't too bad...cooling systems and suspension. If you can do your own work, they don't cost much to own.
good advice. I found an '05 M6 here with < 50K on it for $19k. Seems like a good deal, but it just doesn't seem like there is much on the performace side. I'm starting to think the G35 C might be a better fit...
Well in what way does a G35 perform better? Not in a straight line, and I don't think you'll be dis-satisfied with the cornering or braking performance of the ZHP...not to mention the BMW has a much better interior. The only problem with the BMW is the high cost of maintenance, but IMO it's worth it. $19k is a pretty good deal for a ZHP. I've been looking at a few around $20-21kwith 30k-ish miles.
Now if you were talking about getting a 2007+ G35 sedan, then I could see quite a debate...they're around the same price as the ZHP's and pretty much do everything better; but since you want a 2 door, that point is moot..
Really? You don't think an '05 G35 would out run a 330ci? The 330CI is only rated at about 230 HP, and the G is about 300...
A ci is probably a little slower because the verts are heavy. But 6-speed ZHP coupes run times very similar to a G35... low 14's trapping high 90s (ie: 14.1-14.4 @ 97-99).
I owned one.
FUCKING LOVED THAT CAR!
post pics please.
The one I was looking at has sold and I'm having a hard time finding another one.
Ci != vert.
