We're building a new computer for my friend and we've got everything picked out except the motherboard. He's not interested in SLI so we were looking at this board. It has some negative reviews on Newegg but I don't always trust those reviews to begin with. Its also going to be paired up with a AMD 64 3200+ Venice chip, anyways has anyone had any experience with this board or MSI boards in general?

I have an MSI K8N Neo4 and it is one of the better boards I have used.

I read that there is an issue with setting up RAM in dual channel?

Also performance wise would it be a good idea to get an 80GB SATA HDD as his main system/programs drive? He already has a ATA 160GB HDD but I didn't want that drive to bottleneck the system.

I just tossed my two sticks of Corsair PC3200 next to each other and they were running in Dual Channel, no problem.

I am using a SATA 250GB HDD and it works great, I think a decent SATA HDD would be a nice idea.
