It is a 93 model made in Israel. For us in CA these are hard to get since they are on not on the DOJ approved list. The only way we can get them is if someone who bought them before the ban sells them and that is rare. Someone local has one for sale and I was thinking about picking it up just because it is one of the most badass hand guns to me. It isn't a very practical gun and expensive to shoot but it's a gun that is always a conversation piece. I have been told that by a lot of people that 'You haven't live until you've fired a Desert Eagle' What are your thoughts on this gun? Much appreciated..

**PIC** of the gun I am thinking of buying..

What do you base that off of? If you just want a powerful handgun there are plenty far more powerful revolvers. I'd take one if it was given to me but its a hunting gun that isn't all that remarkable.

I just always liked them, and to me they are a badass hand gun. But like I said not very practical for HD or anything.

What we think doesn't matter then, go for it and have fun. If you get bored sell it and get a new toy.

I just haven't found anything online about their reliability and such. It is a 14 year old gun with a couple thousand rounds fired. I have never fired one and I was curious if anyone here has. Is it fun to shoot? Are you happy with your purchase? I am just afraid I am going to buy it shoot it 3 times then be like ehh, what a waste.

You can still get them in CA. The .44mag version is approved for sale, and all you have to do to convert is a new barrel :dunno:

The barrles are stamped with the caliber now. I will still say .50 on it.

Honestly they pretty much are quite worthless. Yea they look badass and are fun to shoot, but there are no practical uses for them. Plus the ammunition is expensive as all get out. Most places its about $1 a round.

It’s an overpriced novelty, nothing more. I sure as shit wouldn't waste any money on one.

Saw one guy with one at an AR15.com shoot the other day. Looked kind of fun but if you just want something that's big a noisy, just SBR a rifle or make it a pistol. It would be cheaper.

the armorer for my school's PD wants one like that. He figures at the end of every range trip after he is done with the tactical stuff, he can say 'It's pimpin time', pull that out, and start shooting it
