its rather expensive. If you have a big 5 near you, they sell that minus the pistol grip for around 250$.

  3. For that price, I'd just get a Remington 870. Realistically, you don't need a gun that comes with multiple barrels and grip/stock options. You'll likely configure it as you want and never change it again. In that case, you paid for the other barrel and the grip, and they'll just sit in a corner.

Not a bad shotgun if your gay. The Remington 870 would be my recomendation as it is the shotgun of choice of people who actually shoot, who are heterosexual, and otherwise good americans. I give the 870 my offical endorsement.

Would you suggest somewhere else online to see reasonable prices? I guess still being new to firearms, I like to do searching around online rather than walking int a gun shop and looking clueless, so I post and look clueless on here instead :hs:

Of course they come in various configurations which changes the cost but a decent price on a new remington 870 express magnum w/ a 18" bead sight IC barrel is about $300. This base model of the shotgun is what I recommend. You can make some minor modifications to it if you like such as add a surefire weaponlight, and a side saddle shell carrier (really the only two mods you should do).

I would check out your big sporting goods chains such as Big 5 if you have them in your state.

There's no reason to buy something like this online,it'll probably be more expensive. Go to your locally owned gun shop or chain store and buy a 18-20" remington 870.

Cableguy if you had it to do over again with $350 in your pocket would you get the mossberg 500 or a remington 870?

i was at bass pro in orlando about a month or two ago and they had a remington 870 w/ 18" barrel and 7+1 tube for $350

but your best bet is to call around to local stores and ask what they have

I like the concept of on demand video reviews :)

Was there more to it? It seemed like it was cutoff at the end.

Buy a Maverick 88 with the long barrel and then get the shorter barrel later. It will be cheaper than that package.

Wait, I'm not clear on if the stocks are heavy or light based on the review.

We have a 500 w/ pistol grip and an 870 in the bedroom. Market Garden likes the 870 more so he gets that on his side of the bed. I'm stuck with the 500, but I'm confident that I'd be able to shoot it just as well as I would the 870 if a bad guy came in.

500 is fine for home defense use where you dont plan to shoot it much, but if you plan to shoot alot then get the 590, the 500 has alot of cheap plastic parts.

870 probably. But I've personally never fired one yet. I'd get an 870 with Knoxx, or a full stock w/ pistol grip.

uploading issues, I just continued to gripe about the slide lock being hard to reach with that stock on.
