Took a few quick photographs of a good friend who will be releasing an EP here in the next month or so. He's pretty eccentric - so's his music - but he definitely feels it and its something a lot of his friends are getting into.
He came to me and asked about shooting a piece he bought for the cover and we started taking some portrait-type shots. Anyway:

    Any thoughts/ideas?
I'm very fond of the first shot, but something seems missing.
    Thanks all.

Why do you say this? split tonality seem dishonest on digital?

The art in one seems more along the lines of film in a more rough, artistic, analogue sense. His look and the location hark back to the late 70s – early 80s. I did not listen to his music, but you said eclectic, which makes me envision film. It seems like your processing was going for a flat, desaturated look which you could have gotten much more naturally with with film.
