generally don't care for bimmers but that is perhaps one of my all-time favorite cars. I hear their reliability is shit however, and that they cost a small fortune to maintain and keep on the road. I'm not one to talk though, I drive two turbo mitsu vehicles.

i've heard the auto tranny's on those are known to have major problems above 100k.

not sure if its same auto transmission used on the 840 and the 850.

but i'm sure if its a really well maintained cared for car then you shouldn't have any problems.

but first thing i'd do after buying one (if u buy an auto)

is it take it to a bmw service shop and have them do a tranny flush/fill....

so that you have a fresh start on the tranny fluid and make sure you religiously change it once a yr....

it's blue on tan, 73k miles, '92... i'm gonna have to get some new rims for it too cause some ghetto banger put chrome shit rims on it...

what kind of shape is it in?

    and how many owners???

if i were you based on the car and reliability issues and maintenance costs i'd look for a 1 owner car thats been well maintained...i'd rather have a car with 100k well maintained miles then 73k neglected miles...

    I love the series.

Although I have heard of some expensive problems most likely stemming from owners not keeping up with maitenance.

The 850 has one of the smoothest running v12s out there.

    the car is really hawt
but because of their low production numbers esp. in the us and north america they can be really fucking expensive. Also because of low prod. #'s it will be hard to find one that you like in good condition
