what are your initial thoughts? Are you still playing it or does it suck?

The idea sounds great and I'm thinking of preordering I know you cant really judge the final release with the beta but I'd be interested to hear your thoughts:x:

It can be hit or miss.

If you find a bunch of actually coordinated people, it can be a blast, but if you play against people who just wonder around, then it is going to be overwhelming.

i loved it, its not perfect, but as forgotmyname said, if you play with friends or people who actually try to get the objectives, its awesome. its not the most intense game graphically, but with a map with 256 people, i dont expect OMG jaw dropping. it looks good enough for me. the gun play reminds me of a mix of cod and bfbc. the maps are huge. it can feel a bit overwhelming at first cause once you have people dropping air strikes and bombing runs etc... it can feel almost chaotic at times. but still, its not bad enough that it ruins the gameplay.

I didnt really like it...but im not huge on repsawning FPS's. Theres too much team work involved and when i played it was clusterfuck of everyone being there own one man army. When i finally clawed my way to a good location, id die and have to start back far away from all the action and run awhile to i see some tango.

Bottom line, i probally wont buy it. I was a huge Socom fan and im still bitter that Zipper gave up on the series for this.

as stated, playing with a good team changes everything, when you die, you can get revived, theres no respawning way back or anything. most people are just too dumb and respawn instantly cod style and then complain how they gotta run far.

needs a lot of polish if it wants to compete. I only got about 5 or 6 games in but an overview really would have helped things. It wasn't until the last game that I noticed someone was giving me commands to repair so and so installation or take out a turret in some corner of the map. there's a lot of stuff going on.

:dunno: i picked up on the game within half a round. its as simple as following the flashing objective or if you dont want to listen to leader, just make sure they dont take the vehicles from the base. on acquisition that is. theres alot going on sure, but its no different than any other objective based game.

I'll agree that for regular people MAG can be a bit confusing. Hopefully the flesh it out in the full game

Some of the problems with this game seem like the same problems I had with BF2, a good team will make the game really fun while an uncoordinated squad will make the game frustrating. I was told that it take a long time connecting to a game, is this true?

I don't know about that. I never really feel like I'm working as a team on BF or MAG. In MAG at least you're not really working towards the main objective but you're responsible for some side objective (as far as I can tell?) In that regard it is hard to get side tracked although it becomes easy to feel insignificant especially when your team does really well and you still lose because someone else across the map fucked up.

I never had any issues connecting to a game.

I had problems getting into the 256 player map. The other one available would let me in no problem but I usually ended up waiting a good 5-10 minutes to pop up on the queue. I did make the mistake of joining the Russian PMC though so there was a lot of competition to get into a game.
