Better pick them up soon. I have a feeling they will be drying up very soon. Prices have started jumping way up and quality has been dropping. A lot of the distributors are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I just got my "brand new" Bulgarian kit from ORF and it's definitely not new. A lot of the Romy kits people are receiving aren't looking to good either. It use to be you could do a build under $100, now it's approaching $200. :sad2:

Yeah. It will fix up just fine. It doesn't look like it has been fired much but it's got a little rust in the gas tube that I'll have to blast out. The wood is kind of beat up too, but I'll refinish it as soon as I can decide how light or dark I want it to be.

The bore looks brand new and no dents or scratches in the metal so I'm happy. It's just not "brand new" like they advertised.

The only place. I was just expecting it to be brand new, so I was a little disappointed. Check out the pics. the only thing that bothers me is the chip out of the stock. Nothing a little scrap wood, wood glue, some stain, and sandpaper won't fix.

If you already have all the tools, then yes.

    Romanian kits ~ $120
    Receiver flat - $15
    Compliance parts - $40

.223 krink for $690. Too rich for my blood. I think those Yugos are the only one, they are really fucking nice though. A friend built one up a couple months ago. Other option is to just buy an Arsenal...

Ok, so I kinda did a quick run through... you get a blank reciever and then mil it to spec?

I have friends with the capability and tools..... :noes: Otherwise, just buy the parts, then tab A into slot B, and you have an AK? Surely not that easy

Yeah I think Arsenal might be my only choice not paying 700 for a krink kit when the others I have I only paid $2xx  chiefthunder

Besides for 5.56 I rather have a fullsize rifle.

It's just a flat piece of sheet metal with all the holes cut. You just bend it into a 'u' type shape.

That's pretty much the hardest part because you have to have the rails spot welded on. Everything else you can do with a vice, hammer and hand drill if you're determined enough. Things like a 12-ton hydrolic press and a couple other tools will make it easier.

If you don't want to bend the flat you can order a pre-made NDS-3 reciever from NoDak Spud:
    http://www.nodakspud.com/page2.htm

$55 shipped for one plus your FFL fee and you can still do it for under $200 It's worth it to me to pay a little more for a pre-made reciever, they are cut to spec and heat treated. Bending the flat is the least fun part too :o

5.56 out of the 8'' Krink would leave a lot to be desired. 5.45 will tumble no matter how short the barrel though. If you get a Yugo .223 kit you might have trouble finding a receiver. NoDak did a run of them but they took names and cash before because there was not much demand. I'm sure there will be some on gunbroker. I just saw one sell last night on the AKforum for $140 or so.

    :eek3: So many different types!

Gah, I gotta really research this.

So if I wanted to make a no frills 7.62 AK that I can use as a hammer on weekends.... which one do I need.

    *looks ups FAQs*

Hey keesh, how much would shipping an AK kit from you to zip 95340 be? ORF doesn't want to ship to me since I am in Cali, and I would need someone to disassemble the mag anyway :o
