bought myself a christmas present on the 13th... Have to wait until the day after christmas to pick it.

Thanks california laws! I know the idea is to make you not buy a gun while angry, etc, but honestly, I think by the time 10 days is up(or 13 in my case), I'll be more pissed off just from waiting.

Or just go stab the person because we all know homicide is alright so long as you don't use a firearm.

purchased my first pistol on the 13th... a Browning buck mark .22 like so

There were some targets that really pissed me off last time I was at the range, so I went out and bought a pistol to show it whose boss. But thanks to california laws and the cooling off period, the target will live to be shot at another day.

    Way to save lives!

actually I think it's all a ploy my the manufactures of gun accessories, because every day while waiting, I'm online shopping for things I can add to the gun that I probably have no need for.

I really don't need a new barrel for the gun before having ever even shot it.

on a side note, the gf was quite happy at my purchase...

took her to the range a few weeks ago... she went from being terrified that the pistol without a magazine in it, or any live ammo within a hundred yards was going to kill her future babies to trying to burn through the ammo as fast as possible.

I had to bargain with her just to get some shooting time myself.

I already went out and bought about $50 in cleaning supplies just so I could "have them for when I pick up the gun"... because I couldn't have purchased them at the shop when I go to pick them up.

Also have about 700 rounds in the mail, along with 2 pairs of eyes and ears for range time.

Next on the shopping list is a few extra magazines, and a speed loader.

I'm really tempted to pick up a new barrel and then mill out a barrel weight like so...

    it just looks cool...

or I could pick up a shorter barrel and make a weight for that so it actually looks like a baby-killing pistol like so

or I could save my money for something else...

or I could do both :noes:

I even made the gf stop at the gun store with me on the way home to pick it all up...

It's all sitting in the plastic bag I brought it home in still... but I at least got to open up the bore snake to be amused by it.

Move to America. Is that soda tax as big of a deal there as it is in the national news?

Not unless you buy one FTF from another person. You can buy 10 handguns at once if you want.

Oh and I know about the waiting. I am at the beginning of my ten day also but already bought 10 magazines for it and two new different sets of grips to see what I like best between the three. I am already searching on night sights and what gun I want next!

but don't all ftf sales have to go through an ffl, which I can only do once every 30 days?

FTF is exempt from the one handgun per 30 days rule. Also, if you have atleast a COE (might also need a C&R, dont remember for sure), it also exempts you.

Yes, you have to be at a FFL to do the transfer but that is so they hold your gun for 10 days and to register it. It still voids the one handgun per 30 days. You can also buy as many consignment guns from the FFL as you want because you are actually buying from the individual.

    hmm, interesting...

honestly, I don't have the money right now to buy another, so it's not really a concern...

sounds like another rule that makes a whole lot of sense.

Aequitas... this is the first I've heard of such a thing. :dunno:

I had no idea about it, but it looks like it will be a San Francisco thing only. Doesnt bother me as I dont drink soda anyways.

maybe it means the price of sodas will go up at work... which means higher sales, and as such, higher tips :bigthumb:
