finally got around to the photos of my last field problem.
Kind of looks like our phase 4 infil. It was steeper though. I didn't know North Carolina had hills but found out pretty quickly.
Looks like a hill. Hill FTL.
But my hill was bigger then your hill.
New Mexico mountains > ant hills.
Hawaii's hills > Hills
The Kahukus fucking suck.
Been there done that. My unit sat on the backside of those gulches. We would do 6 mile rucksack runs for PT on thursday. Nothing like hauling ass in PT clothes and carrying 50+ lbs through gulches to fuck up your knees and ankles.
God the hills sucked dick.
i know those hills aint shit. Afghanistan was fucking a blast. got engaged while we were at 6,000 feet. had to climb up to 10,000 to engage the enemy at close range. call in for air support? nah, lets climb up right to them. boy do i miss those days...
Mountain phase of Ranger school >*
My College is about 10 miles from Camp Frank D. Merrill and we conduct our FTX's there. That shit sucks. You are gagging for air anytime you are moving.
funny. i dont remember the air being that bad when i went
It's not the air, It's just the fact that the hills would be smokers especially while humping a ruck and trying to crawl through all of the thick vegitation.
ahh ok. i was like what the hell are you talking about haha. Ranger School was a smoker thru and thru
Yep all of the trainees look like zombies walking around the base.
Those RI's are cool as shit though, they'll just talk to you like a normal guy. They don't try to prove anything. You can just tell that they are bad ass.
word. My experiences with Army Special Forces is exactly the same. they are indeed "Quiet Professionals". not cocky at all and very squared away.
I was thinking the same thing. Looked exactly like the area we did our night land nav in, except we had more ground vegetation.
QFMFT. We used to do Humvee pushes up the gulches on Helemano.
Home sweet home.
it's Fort A. P. Hill, Virginia
Funny how you won't need that "hill" training in the desert.
WOW. ever heard of Afghanistan. dont tell me there arent "hills" there. LMFAO
Helamano...damn, it seems like forever since I heard of that military housing. No PMCS were done when you took your dispatch and drove off? LOL
So what/where are/were you stationed at? and MOS check?
edit: n/m found the info.
Me (look for one of the white specs), on a field training exersize, in NC when I was in ROTC
When I was with 25th ID i was stationed at 125th Sig on Helemano. Now I'm just a guardsman. Although I'm back in Infantry now. We have a march in Waikiki this weekend for the guys that deployed to Iraq
