So today at lunch I finally talked to this kid who I always thaught was a powerlifter or something. I kept on hearing legends of him "benching 34858520lbs for 22 reps!" so I decided to fianlly find out for myself. He told me his max is 400 (hes 17 and a senior like me). I was fairly impressed, and I asked what he squats/dls and he told me that he doesnt do either, and never tried. Then I asked how long he has been lifting and he said since 12 :noes: .

Its not the age...its that he has been lifting for over 5 years and never did squats or deadlifts.

Heh is this a "high school" bench press where your ass is 10 feet off the bench and you have your spotters lift it for you?

. I was hearing these legens of everyone benching over 200 in grade 10 from my friend's younger bro, then when i saw the kids do the benches i realised they wouldnt manage even 135 competition.

good, at least he is smart. people who squat/deadlift stay short because it compresses the spine. just look at everyone in this forum who squats and deadlifts and my point will be supported.

    Haha, I did 225 in 10th grade.

As for the kid, no hes not doing the retarded typle of bench...he does it with decent form. In fact, he said that the nearest thing to a "spotter" was some kid standing a few feet away.

Yah this 5'2 120 lb dude at my gym told me he could do 225 twice. I watched him max out with 3 spotters lol. They curled it for him.
