Sadly I think most of society is and just a few steps away from letting it show.

3 days without electricity would turn Atlanta into Mogadishu

At least Mogadishu has warlords that kindof make sides... ATL would be just one uber clusterfuck. LA downtown isn't much better, but get 40 minutes outside the city and things would be more civil... especially in Orange County.

I just can't understand it. I know there's the whole mob mentality, group think, thing, but I would just be looking to get out of there as fast as possible and not leave my house. Does that make me in the minority?:hsd:

    Summertime would be worse.
No phones,no fans or a/c, no WB or UPN, no ice or perishable food, no lights, and no burglar alarms.

Sadly yes, it seems like most people want to get away with something and pull one over on the man. That can mean sally housewife stealing shoes or the local thug squad playing mor eopenly in the streets while the police are unavailable. Most people seem to be easily influenced by what others around them do too. They just remind me a lot of kids.

Its part of why living in a heavily populated area creeps me out a little.

(plz don't rape me when the lights go out)

I was in college during the riots (cal state fullerton), living in a all wood frat house. The cops came and warned that if people mobbed up they might try to burn our house down as we are very visable and known. We said they could try we got guns and shit. When they said we got guns and shit they meant Yar's got AK's and AR's in his trunk. Cops were like "OK".

I worked at UPS as a supervisor and our headquarters was in Olympic (deep in LA). They had guards armed with shotguns on the roof overlooking the facility. Granted nobody fucked with that building.

In Signal Hill where I live now some loots tried to raid the local costco. The Signal Hill cops who are known for taking care of bussiness repelled the looters. Word was they were handing out some serious beat downs.

For the most part it was LA and some confined areas that would flare up then die off.

On a seperate note I was also here during the northridge earthquakes. Completely different story. People really pulled together, were civil and helped each other out.

The way I see it if there is a big enough disaster like a earthquake in So Cal all hell could break loose. Better believe I am prepared as well as anyone could.

God, I just realized I was 10 during those riots. I remember them so well, we wanted pizza delivered and the pizza hut was like... uhh.. no. The funny thing is I lived in a suburb (San Dimas, featured in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures) and nowhere near any danger

Looked like random, poorly aimed fire.
    One handed cowboy style.
I wonder how many innocent people got tagged.
(at the same time, how many innocent people woule be there in the first place)

When everyone was evacuating Houston right before Rita lots of people were running out of gas. My secretary's brother owned an auto shop right off the highway. It was secured by a concertina wire topped fence and there was a large gas tank in the back. Certain "people" told them they were going to take the gas and they couldn't stop them. Au contraire. They basically had to sit on the roof of the building with a couple shotguns, a rifle and two handguns just to keep people from ripping them off.
