Many domestic manufacturers were and still are criticized for their subpar interiors. How is this example different?

dont really see what the problem is with the non colour coded one.

compare it to the other alternative they offered.

If you want woodgrain to break up the plastic, you could get the finish/trim from the TS/TL/Fairlane vehicles.

Dash isnt quite so bad then with the climate control and stuff moved to digital.

:nono:

Ford's interiors looks pretty good now. 10x better than than that shit. Almost all of the domestic cars have good interiors now, comparable to other cars in their respective classes from other countries. Not really an issue anymore.

umm easiest way I think i can explain it is

HP more so corresponds to how fast you can go
Torque is how fast you get there.

there is a lot more involved but this is how it was explained to me years ago.

power is a weird term

small engines can make similar power to the large engines, but the sensation of power from smaller engines is that they wind up, they use cleaver gearing, and high revs to generate power which is the forward movement

torque, from a drivers point of view, can pretty much be describes as the low end willingness of an engine, so while two engines make similar power, the torquey engine will provide additional thrust from the lower rev range

and ultimately, if the torqey engine makes more acceleartion down low and up high, it is more useful in the real world, were we cant always keep our engines at the top of the power band to get the most out of them

Torque is not directly tied to the RPM of an engine. Having torque at low RPMs, though, is a good thing.

Torque

Imagine that you have a big socket wrench with a 2-foot-long handle on it, and you apply 50 pounds of force to that 2-foot handle. What you are doing is applying a torque, or turning force, of 100 pound-feet (50 pounds to a 2-foot-long handle) to the bolt. You could get the same 100 pound-feet of torque by applying 1 pound of force to the end of a 100-foot handle or 100 pounds of force to a 1-foot handle. Similarly, if you attach a shaft to an engine, the engine can apply torque to the shaft. A dynamometer measures this torque. You can easily convert torque to horsepower by multiplying torque by rpm/5,252.

i know the whole torque x revs / 5250 is power blah blah

but generally, when we say an engine is torquey, it is powerful at low revs
