Bolt release broke? I'm too lazy to look at mine for differences.

Nope, but I'm fairly new to firearms. Looks like a fairly straight forward fix. Tap the pin out of place and put in a new catch. Although I could be dead wrong on that one, I've never taken that apart before.

That's what I'll be doing alright. Just plain sucks. I was going to bring this to the range with me tomorrow.

I hate when that happens. Nothing can ever be easy.

correct me if i'm wrong, but it'll still work. The bolt wont lock back, but you can manually do that when changing mags.... the action should be fine.

You are correct. It does still work. Just can't slap it to release the bolt anymore.

    It's Karma man! lol

Luckily it just happened when you were just out plinking. Now you know, better order two and keep one on hand just in case.

You can tap out the bolt catch roll pin and replace that. I would assume you lost the bolt catch buffer and spring since the bottom part (that is missing in your pic) is what retains it. Should be a fairly straigtforward and cheap repair.

That's what I'll be doing. I found the buffer, but not the spring. :mamoru:

I just have to pay a visit to one of the local shops and pick up a new bolt catch and roll pin. I've got an AR replacement parts kit that should have the spring.

Only time I've seen that is when my rifle blew up.
