I spent about $115 or so on my Benchmade 710 and you can really feel the difference in the level of quality and precision between an expensive knife and a 30 dollar knife, it's night and day.

I'm not big into knives, I use my leatherman frequently and have a bunch of cheap blades that just sit in my drawer, I wouldnt mind a nice little folder just gotta figure out whats good and not that expensive dont think I'll use it frequently enough to justify $100+

I wasn't really into knives until I bought my first Benchmade, then I was hooked. Once you buy your first high quality knife, you'll realize how addictive it is :noes:.

I got my benchmade. Actually that mini-griptillian, but no tanto blade, as i dont like them. And the blade is silver. I love the thing, and it was i think 80 bucks out the door.

    Should be called AR-15...

something with AK-47 on it should come with a wood handle.

I'm not much into knives either, but some look really nice. I have yet to tell the difference between a $100 knive and a $20 one.

You'd probably have to feel it in your hand and operate it to see a difference.

I'm scared to try one though... I might end up buying it :mamoru:

Handle a $100 knife and a $20 knife and you will be able to easily see the difference.

The AXIS lock on the Benchmade's is absolutely amazing, after having a cheap asian made CRKT break and fold on to my fingers, i'll never use another low quality knife again.

The money goes into the type of steel, the craftsmanship, the handle, and several other things aside from the locking mechanism.

I just use a cheapo $10 folder. It's 440 stainless and is pretty heavy. The lock on it is sturdy. It opens up smooth. For what I use it for it's great :dunno:.

I bought a CRKT M16 compact a week ago and I love it so far... light, small, and the assisted opening makes using it a snap. Picked it up for $45 at a local surplus store near home... can't go wrong when its supposed to go for $75
