I actually do, do it this way (similar to JZ and Aoki #2) but I never thought to sit up and grab the guys leg like that.

Is hooking the leg like that preventing him (blue gi) from rolling?

He showed us one way where after you hook your other foot around the other guys knee you roll to your stomach (have to be careful doing htis one in hte gym or you could hurt the guy) and another way of grabbing the leg, but not to that extent

And as much as it might hurt you chech, all the omo's he was showing us were being setup from rubber guard

i use rubber guard a little bit now. it's great. I just dont think it revolutionizes grappling. and i do a modified version that doesnt hurt my knees :hs:

that's fucking sick. I'd like to see the setup before that.. I was taught to get the bottom leg's knee inside the far arm so you can pinch the thighs together to grip the arm as you spin into the omoplata. How do you keep control of the arm you're attacking if you keep the bottom leg extended?

rubber guard is great if you can get used to it. I just see it as another way to set things up. I used to like it a lot to set up for triangles.
