it's an 06 SV650s, has 11k miles. the guy selling it is the 2nd owner, he bought it from a dealership in july of 2008. it has a clean title, hasn't been dropped before he says, but when he was tryign to park, he ran the right front blinker into something so the casing for that is broken, but the blinker still works fine.

when he listed the bike it had a flat front tire, and i told him i was concerned abotu being able to test ride it w/ a flat, so today he went to the shop and got the tire replaced. he told me the guy at the shop told him that the rear tire should be replaced soon and that the chain needs adjustment. also the bike needs an oil change. the guy said he hasn't ridden the bike for about 2 months, except today to take to the shop.

it's listed for $3800 but when i told him my concern about the front tire, he said he could do $3500. but i think he's pretty desperate to sell so he would go lower.

what are your guys' thoughts on this? considering that if i do buy it, i'd need to get an oil change, chain adjustment, new rear tire?

chain adjustment? did he not tighten it?

if it's a replacement, chain+sprockets will run you about 160 from this shop in HB (direct from manufacturer ftw)

if the front tire's flat and the rear needs replacing, why not just get a new set? cyclegear runs specials on sets 4 times a year, usually for like $200 for a set

    oil change is easy

he said just a chain adjustment..

the tire he got is a shinko, is that decent? i hope he didnt get the cheapest tire he could find just so people could test ride it... dont think he got a new set b/c he didnt want to spend more money on it before selling

alright bros, more questions about 650s :o

so theres this 2007, mint, never been down, in buena park is 3900 (originally was at 4200, he lowered it), cant negotiate any lower, with 8k miles

then there's this 2006 in costa mesa, it's been down once, 9k miles, listed at 4150 but can negotiate. heres pics of the damage:

how much do you think i can get him to knockoff because of that damage, being a year older, and have more miles, considering i can get the 07 for 3900? :o whats a reasonable price to ask him for it? :o or should i just go ahead w/ the 07?
