I'm thinking of switching my Lenovo Thinkpad T60 over to a MBP. I want to get one of the 15 inch MBPs. Is the performance difference between the lower end and the middle one that much (or at least worth the $500 price difference)? Also, my T60 is based off the previous generation Core Duo @ 2.0 Ghz so would there be a huge difference between that and the new 2.2 Ghz Core 2 Duos?

Can you run Bittorrent on Macs? What about AVI files (for my pRon)?

    Help! Much appreciated!!!

Dooo Ittttt! Plus free Nano right now as well.

You can run Bit Torrent and most any Bit Client. Torrent X is coming out soon, but Transmission is the quickest right now, with Azureus being the most powerful.

Yup, you can watch all AVI files, just have to have the right DIVX codecs, which you can easily get.

    VLC and Mplayer FTW!

in short, whatever you can do on a pc, you can do on a mac...
doesn't mean you'll use the same software, but you can do it...

you won't notice a huge boost in speed going from CDuo, to C2D, but depending on what you do, you might notice a little gain.

bittorrent wise, Transmission is probably the best one out right now, uTorrent should be release sometime soon according to reports.
