thinking of ninja 250 or rs50

Discussion in 'OT Driven' started by BoostedBoogie, Sep 13, 2004.

  1. i originally wanted the rs50, just something for fun besides my other midbike, but heard the accel was really weak. so i thought about the ninja 250 which i've also heard is much faster. wanted some feedback on these bikes.. the kawasaki ninja 250 is around 2000 used around here for the 2003 models.

btw these bikes will just be for fun to play with and maybe carbon fiber too. (im a collector of my own stuff and will start up a collection of carbon fiber bikes that i did myself)

cant speak for the RS but the 250 isn't bad and it has some quickness higher in the powerband.

i dont know how lighter it can get but i'd like to see :big grin:

All that the RS50 is, is a nice looking moped. If you're looking for a motorcycle and these are your only choices go with the 250. Personally I'd get a Suzuki GS500. I can almost guarantee that you're going to get sick of the 250, and fast.

The rs50 is pretty cool looking, but not what you ultimately want to really learn and get any real experience... I owned one and got tired of it in a week.... you need to rape it throught every gear for the small dosage of speed it produces... it is a fun bike to toss around nonetheless, people race it and stuff up here in Sacramento CA in the 50CC class....

I say you pick up an older 600CC bike and just learn from there....

You do NOT want an RS50 to ride on the street. They're good for 50cc racing, not good for street riding.

Why do you say that? I've had a 250 for well over a year now and will continue on it until I can't ride it any faster. It would be nice to have some extra power but there's no point in having it if you can't use it properly.
