CCW? Not likely, want hi-cap mags? become LEO. 10 day wait on any gun purchase. Required DOJ certified safety device to get a gun. Handgun Saftety Certificate to buy a handgun, should be about $25. DROS fee again $25, unless its a face to face transfer, then I think its just $15. Any weapon you buy out of state has to be shipped to an FFL unless you are an FFL.

Edit - dont forget, no .50 BMGs, no ARs no AKs, etc.

you can get a ccw, theres no big deal about 10 round mags. They should outlaw glocks though, only dolts shoot those

CA is like the opposite of Norway.

In Norway you can have pretty much whatever guns you want, full auto, suppressed, whatever. The use of supressors is encouraged and is a sign of good neighbourliness.

    um, DONT

seriously, I live in Cali, great weather, great people, great jobs, but the gun laws fucking suck. If you are seriously considering it though, go to www.calguns.net and introduce yourself on the forum (dont worry, we wont make fun of your glocks) and ask there. Bill or Ben will drop a line and let you know what is kosher or not.

Various areas of California are beautiful.
I'd love to live there except for things like insane real estate prices, high taxes, shitty laws, shittier politicians.

You can apply after living in Norwegia for a certain amount of time. I was raised there and my mother is Norwegian, so I have my citizenship.

  13. I love it here but the gun laws do suck. Not as bad as some places, but the law is worded like they are expecting you to be a criminal. You can't have suppressors. Ok, but you can't have threaded barrels either. Which means you can't even have a fake suppressor just for looks. Walther had to make a special CA version of their P22 with no threads. Maybe I'll get an unthreaded extended barrel and stick a fake silencer on there :x:

Why would one want a fake suppressor for looks?

Some people might do it for looks, also if you live in a commie state that doesnt allow SBR's you might put one on too get around that, if I put one of my Krinkov kits together now, I would have to put a fake suppressor on it to keep it in legal length.

Cali's laws do suck. However, my garand fits in just fine :) Too bad I have to drive for 2 fucking hours to go to a range where I can actually shoot it.

Is anyone really familiar with the 10rd magazine law? I was out at the range yesturday and someone was clearly shooting a rifle that had more than 10rds in it. I think he let off about 11-12 before I walked away. The range masters seem to not mind? Is it legal to use if it was purchased before the ban?

Yeah if you had them before the ban I think your ok, NY is somewhat similar 10 round mag limit on new magazines, except we can still buy high cap mag's as long as they were manafactuered prior to the ban.. Stupid and impossible to enforce unless theres a date on them.

why? after all, 10+ rounds are not illegal to posses, only to buy/trade/etc. And since they have the burden of proof in this, all you have to do is make sure to use 30 rounders that are pre 1994 ban (since the Cali ban and the AWB overlapped). Hell, its even legal to import replacement parts and the like. stupid fucked up gun laws...

  24. I have a 40 mag that fits 13rd of 9mm. :noes:

I think I'll keep it loaded for defense only. :)

Yeah, their not hard to get either. I bought some 15 rounders off the internet but sold them because they were crap. I'm just going to stick with the 10rnd factory mags and not even mess with it
