Thinking of going with the Image Dynamics IDQ 10 D4 V.2 for my car. From what I have read on here and other reviews, they sound perfect for what I want. I listen to everything but country, and the SQ from what I have heard is awsome. I want SQ over SPL, but a little SPL isn't bad either, and these seem to have both.
My question is, would I be alright with just one 10in, or should I buy 2? I'm thinking of just getting one and see how I like it, and buy another of need be, but then I'd have to buy or build another box all over again. What I am trying to say is, should I bother with 2, or will 1 be enough to make my mirrors fall off? And how much will I be gaining with 2 over just a single?

    Thanks again.

Why 10's and not just a single 12'?

I dunno.. I was always told that 10's were more responsive, which is a plus since I listen to mostly rock/metal, but I also listen to practically anything else from jazz to hip hop.

All other factors equal, a 10" woofer wont sound 'tighter' or more responsive over a 12" or 15".

You can get as good (or better) bass quality by using a larger diameter woofer, as it wont need to excur as far to get a given sound pressure level as would a smaller diameter woofer.

Ok, I'll go with the 12in then if I don't end up getting the 10w7.

He's saying that the larger the diameter of the woofer the better for subwoofers.

actually I have read that the new ID 10 v3 are better than the IDQ 10 v2's, so maybe save some loot and get the ID model

Ok, wasn't sure if there was much of a difference, they both have the same specs practically. Thanks for clearing that up. I should know by the weekend (I hope) if I am getting a w7.. A buddy of mine said he can get me a good deal on one, but I don't know what's happening with that yet.

Also, weren't the ID's just single voice coils, or do they have dual versions?
