I am a PC guy but lately i have been really interested in getting a mac...... One reason is that my intership is about to end and i am going back to college. Even though I live only 2 blocks away from college, I want a small laptop to carry to the campus. The only laptop i have is a dell one with 17 inches but i want something small. I, however, dont want to spend more than 1200 bucks and want it to have a good 3d card(i want to be able to play latest games), at least 1 gig of ram(for movie editing, etc) and be able to run windows maybe? (all the new ones do right?) i want it to be like 12-13 inches widescreen screen as well. I dont really know much about macs except that i used my friends Mac Os X is so nice I really want to try something new. (i have windows, ubuntu and used to have redhat at home). I think we have student discounts at our bookstore.
Recommend me something and discuss the mac laptops.

Get the MacBook Pro and get some extra memory for it

I am torn on whether or not the Apple Education Discount is worth it. At least for me, I'm only saving up to $200 on the item.

Apple hasn't had that kind of market share since the whole PC wars were decided.

Saving money is always worth filling out an extra piece of paper. Get the discount and buy more RAM with it.

I got a MBP, my first Mac ever. After 2 weeks, I was comfortable. After a month I am frustrated when I have to use a stupid windoze box. I have a windoze partition so I can play games, that is the ONLY thing I use windoze for now. Oh, and it tromps my desktop. I got a 2.8GHz/2GB RAM/Radeon X850xt, and I can run BF2 at medium and low settings. On my Mac, I can max out all the settings and it is smooth, although I only had AA/AAF at 2x. It kinda makes me feel dizzy when I play though, too many shadows and shit, just gotta get used to it...

I used to be the guy who could not help making fun of his loser Mac friends, now I am a believer.
