I'm 5'8 sitting at 138lbs right now. Body isn't anywhere near what it would have to be in order to compete, but the first round of judging is on june 15th so I have some time. (Recent picture in my log)

One thing to note is that school is first for me, so until the end of march I would prioritize my studies. After that though, i'd have a solid 2.5 months to train hard. Just want to see what what you guys think.. If I entered, I'd be trying to get in the top 20 because thats all you need to move on to the next round.

If I undertake this, how much of a commitment will I have to make? I already train 4 times a week and eat healthy. Some of you have competed yourselves, care to share your experiences?

You aren't going to win at that height/weight. Even shredded to the bone, you're tiny.

obviously you would do better with more prep time but for your first contest, sometimes it's just best to do one to see what it's about/what it takes. I don't think anyone expects to go out and win their very first contest.

Based off how you worded your post, I don't think you understand how much it sucks to get contest ready

Based on what I see in your log, you eat like a bird, train like a bird and have absolutely little if any strength at all. Competing isn't something that you just wake up and say hey I barely can deadlift 135 but fuck it I'm competing bc I'm hardcore.
To be blunt, I wouldn't waste anyone elses time with this bullshit.

hahaha loving the replies. Thanks for the input, seriously.

One thing about this "competition" is that it's not for size and bulk. "NxLabs® Ultimate Fitness Challenge is a physique-exhibition contest that emphasizes muscle tone over muscle size."

I believe that if I bulked for the first two months and then cut for the next two I would have a chance to make the top 20. That is my goal. I mean, there are guys that are in their 20's and 30's competing. If i could make the first cut, I would be stoked.

One thing about this competition though is that it seems like a popularity contest. "People enter and get votes in this portion. The top 20 vote getters become semi-finalists." What's stopping competitors from making fake emails and voting for themselves? That fact aside, you would have to make the top 5 (votes wise) in order to make the final round where you will be judged.

The whole thing sounds kind of dumb, but regardless I'm planning on using it as motivation to workout hard and properly. Whether I win anything or not, I would have a pretty good body for the summer, which is what I want anyways.

Does my plan of bulking for 2 months, and then cutting make sense? And to those who question my cutting right now, I'm doing it because i want to, since I've always been fat/chubby and wanted to see how defined I could get.

We understand that the contest is not strictly bulk, but at your height, weight, and your numbers, you have nothing on your mass or size wise. There is no tone to judge off of. The replies sound harsh but people are being honest dude, not trying to smash you down.

You know when you see that person on the American Idol audition that is godawful and you say "why didn't at least one of his/her friends just tell them straight up they are not ready for a singing audition" ? That's what F&N is doing for ya.

Makes sense, 4 months is not nearly enough time to make a transformation. Thanks for the honest replies guys.

Now deciding if I should stick with my cutting or if I should turn around and bulk. Seriously considering bulking.
