Hi, im thinking of buying my first firearm and was considering an sks because they seem cheap, reliable, simple, and fire cheap ammo.

Any opinions on other rifles or type of sks.

in that case, i'd second the yugo or possibly one of the Kel-Tec rifles(SUB 2000 or SU-16)

I got my SKS at Dunham's for $99. In great condition... it's not unissued... but there are no marks of wear anywhere. You can get unissued models for around $150. I highly recommend this gun... it is so fun and cheap to shoot. I love mine.

I'm leaving for AIM in a few hours, time to pick up a Mauser

I'm also getting one of the shooter special SKS for a buddy, it's only $80. I'll try and take pics when I get home.

under an hour and a half, assuming you don't have a day like I did where a semi exploded on I70, and traffic was backed up over 10 miles.
