I've been active duty enlisted for close to 5 yrs now & my time is just about up. Have some friends who are in the active reserves & say it's easy as fuck (this is the navy here, so chances are much less we will deploy)
What would being an officer in the reserves be like? Would I still need to go through the full OCS training? What sort of work would I do on my 1 weekend a month? Anything worth noting??

the reason I didn't do this:
For the USMC it was a full year commitment of training while only recieving a pay check for the weekend. Granted the check is nice, but not enough for me to make it worthwhile.

really? goddamn i can't see myself needing that in depth of training. I wonder if the navy would pull the same thing.
I wouldn't even being doing it for the money. I just want to keep serving while still having my civilian life... without having to commit too much time :hs:

yea I would get paid while training but afterwards the one a month check isn't worth it.

don't see why not. If you have a degree, put in a package & they have an opening, there should be no reason why they can't.

In the ANG you have to go through Officer Training School which I suppose is worse than basic, (thats what my officers told me) it is only like 6-8 weeks though.
