There is a AD ANG unit in my home town. I'm thinking about applying for Palace Chase and going to that unit.

    Any Guard folks around?
This would be an activated guard unit.

This is an Active Duty position within the AFNG

    Did you do Palace Chase?
If so, do they pay for your PCS?

I hope so. It is possible. I can wait for a E6 slot to open up and then drop my paperwork. Palace Chase applicants have priority over all other people applying for the slot.

I did a Palace Chase to the reserves, this keep the state from activating me for BS utilization...

Unrelated. AFPC kept me in, not the unit.

Seriously though, the main problem is that there are a lot of guys who get behind the green door and stay there. No one in my chain of command has been White World AF for more than 2 years; their first two years of being in the AF. They are just now finding out about the DOD cert push, while I've been telling them about it for almost two years. The cool parts are: we don't answer to DISA or anyone else, tons of money for training, tons of money for the latest and greatest equipment, crazy awesome missions supported, and lots of travel; of which we don't use DOD travel regs. Everything else is equal or sucks more than WWAF.

I was AD for 6 years then full time guard for a year or so and just hit my ten year "total" mark. The AGR thing is a good gig, but with funding and brac, I was worried and was told that since I hadn't been in 16 years or whatever that if there were cuts myself and a few others would be out a job. It wasn't worth it to me so I got a better paying Fed job that has been working out better.
