What kind of .223 is it, and how much do you want for it?

Most ARs group just as well as a bolt action rifle at 100 yards, I hope you are not doing it for accuracy reasons.

I am against selling firearms. Period. What will inevitably happen is...you will sell your AR, get your bolt rifle, then kick yourself in the taint for selling your AR, and you will want it back, or another one. My advice, just save your money for a few months and buy the bolt rifle and add it to the family. I sold a Glock 19 once. I feel like a dickhead for doing it, even though I still have 13 firearms.

Keep the AR and save for the bolt action...it's what I'm doing.

What's not to like about the AR platform? Great accuracy, modular design, infinite aftermarket accessories. I mean, you can't store it in a mud puddle, but it is an incredibly good rifle.

yeah, maybe it was just the one i had... but it jammed every 3rd round and i couldnt even fire a mag all the way through without having to clear a jam. also felt like a toy to me. it was a 20" dpms with 6 pos mil spec stock. i think i posted a picture of it a long time ago. it had the carry handle too, which i didnt like.

Sounds like the one you had was a lemon. I don't like the fixed sights/carry handle either. I opted for the picatinny rail on the top and flip up front and rear sights.

If you're willing to give ARs another chance, see if any of your buddies have some ARs in different manufacturers and shoot them to see if you like them any better. I had the chance to shoot a CMMG before buying one, and I loved it.

If not, a FAL was going to be my other choice for a semi-auto rifle.

i would have been willing back when ammo was cheap, but not now. ammo is too expensive. rather shoot .308 for the price. lasts longer too.

No offense, but that thing does not represent the many, many quality AR15s out there.

    DPMS: First possible problem.
    Cheap ammo: Possible second.
    Cheap Magazines: Most likely.

What kind of jams did you have?
