I am thinking about picking up a BMW 135i coupe. I'm currently deployed to the middle east and can get one for a couple thousand off. I'm sure somebody can offer some opinions.

It's a good car, decently powerful, decent feel, few grand too much for me

Clarkson compared a 135i to some other car and the other car came out as the winner. Which one was it?

Kind of overpriced for what you get. I would buy a 370Z if I was looking for a new coupe.

No? The Z has a lot to offer. If you're not looking for luxury gimmicks, then the Z may be the smarter move...

stock to stock, the Z and 135i have nearly identical performance, with the Z edging the 135i in the g with the wider stance and wider tires. The Z also comes with an LSD, so that is a pretty good advantage.

but that's where it ends.... a $500 JB3 makes the 135i completely destroy the Z in every category, and a good set of 255/35R18 tires in the rears will even out the Lateral G advantage.

We need to be fair... the Z's LSD is shit and is barely better than nothing, but at least it's something.

The difference between a BMW/Lexus/Mercedes/Infinity/etc... and a 350Z like car.

Driveability on a day to day basis on rough roads littered with potholes.

    Creeks and squeaks.

    etc...

135i is either a chick car, or a track car.

If you're gonna drop that money on a BMW, spend the extra change and get a 335i - the weight difference isnt that major.

I'd have to put out another $5000 to get a similar 335i. I can't afford that much more.

the weight difference isn't major????:ugh2: So I assume you also think the price difference isn't that major either, huh?

you are talking about a 200lbs difference, a $6000 difference (equally equiped), a much nicer accented interior (m-steering wheel, m-ssk + knob, etc), a better/nicer set of breaks, a slightly faster performance, and a much more nimble and sportier feel on the 135i.....

gotta love the faggot ignorant asses on OT

I appreciate an owner who sees it like it is.

Both ways, they are both really cool cars that you can have fun in. Honestly, if I had the money, I would take the 135i. Especially w/ JB3 (I see it online for 379)
