As the title says, I'm looking at maybe picking up a Sig. Not sure which model or caliber yet though. Anywho, if I were to pick one up it would be in about 2 months after my birthday and shit is over. But my dilemma is that today my range is giving free Sig rentals because there are reps in town, but I have no money to go to the range. Should I go anyways and then just lack funds elsewhere? :hs:

Also, which model of Sig does everyone prefer?

I carry a P229r with the DAK trigger in .40 cal. It is an excellent self defense weapon and can also fit the bill for concealed carry.

I've owned them all except the 220, They all shoot well. If you want a 9mm stick to 228 or a 226. They don't make 228s anymore so if you want one you'll have to look. I'd stick to 9mm in any model, if you just want to shoot it. If you have the intention to conceal You should stick to the compact models. 228, 229, 239, 245, 220 carry. :o

I'd definately go rent one if you haen't shot one before. I have a 226 and its nice, but I'm not sure I can get used to the long trigger reset.

    I like the 229 a lot, but I like .40/.357sig. I own a Sig pro and I love it (2022 in .40).

220 is damn nice too (.45)

229 if you plan on carrying
    226 if you want a 9mm, 357sig, 40sw range gun
220 if you want a 45 range gun

Go try one though. I promise you will love it. :)

Skipping lunch for a couple of days to get the chance to shoot a Sig is definately worth it :bigthumb:.

Fire one with a DAK trigger and you'll definitely change your mind.

Why is the DAK so much better? The idea of DA/SA actually sounds more appealing to me than a DA only. What makes it so good?

(And I never got a chance to go to the range and shoot the Sig today :wtc: But I will soon.)
