I was playing basketball yesterday before my workout, and I jumped to grab a rebound and I felt a pop in my calf. Needless to say, I am having trouble walking today, and my calf hurts like hell.

Anyone have any experience dealing with this? I looked up symptoms and treatments on the internet, and I'm thinking about going to the doctor, but all treatment signs point to rest since surgery is very rarely used.........

You probably just pulled it. If it was a full tear your calf would be rolled up in a nice little ball.

I can barely walk though. I cant bring my knee to my chest either. Moving my toes up and down hurts like hell too. I'm pretty good with pain too.

I can walk much better this morning so it appears that I just pulled it. It still hurts to flex the muscle, but it is significantly better than yesterday.

How long does this typically take to heal to resume normal activity?

This sounds so creepy. How does something like this heal? Do they press it out with a rolling pin or something?

Surgury to reattach the muscle, and lots and lots of rehab.
