I am fucking psyched. I come from a family of Army pilots, but for years put off applying due to not wanting to follow in my fathers footsteps. Over the last couple of years I have become more and more interested in flying, but was over the age limit when I submitted my packet last year. Now with the age limit increase I am very confident I will get accepted. I have a great AFAST score, an amazing military record, and I know some flying warrants that can steer my packet to the right people. :bigok:

This is very good news now that my chances of getting into SOCOM as a Operator are next to none.

You would still be an officer right? I saw that the AF is offereing incentives for current ROTC kids to either get out, or go to the Army.

Absolutely, Warrant Officer is the best rank in the military. I have been kicking myself for missing my chance a few years back. My Grandfather, Father, and brother all flew, but I was hard headed and decided to go another direction in life. Looks like I might actually get a second chance, which is rare in life.

I wanted to turn in my W.O. packet in and fly before I left for Iraq. Especially since I was Cav, I could have joined an Air Cav unit, but after Iraq my decisions changed and I needed a break from the Army for a couple years. Congrats on the bar raise. Hope everything works out for you.

It was interesting, and centered around WWII.

Army WO's are the only ones allowed to fly right? In other words, USMC WO's don't get that opportunity correct? :/
I'd be sweet to fly a Cobra.

I don't think my shoulder is going to heal to the point that I can complete the CCT pipeline, and I will crosstrain into Aerial Gunner if I am not picked up by the Army. I am not eligible to retrain until November 2006 so I have over a year to try to get into the Army WO program.

I have no loyalty to any of the services. As long as I am in the military doing what I want to do I will be happy. To many people accept their place in the military, and don't use the programs available to get the job they want. I plan on using ever connection, program, and loophole I can to get where I want in the military.
