My Powerbook G4 gets insanely hot when ripping and encoding DVDs. I had a laptop fan but it was noisy as balls so now I just keep my Powerbook elevated. I have the protection plan and it'd be nice to use it before it runs out so I'm not all too worried about that.

I have to build a freaking wind tunnel for my powerbook g4 whenever it is doing some heavy lifting (which is never now that I have a MBP). I think after a few years the fans kinda wear out a bit and aren't as effective.

Why should you have to worry about your pc overheating / getting hot by just burning a god damn dvd?
