I have a buddy that loves those cars. He wants one to have and mod other then his WRX. He said they are go-fast-straight cars, but he will keep his WRX for the auto-x.

I always liked those Cougars. The T-Birds from that era are pretty  too. Basically a fox Mustang with different body work. They're a little heavy, but very nice, comfortable cars that can be built to have plenty of power.

The Mark VIII is definitely the coolest of the big Ford triplets. :o

Yeah. Different cars excel at different things. These Cougars & T-Birds are wide, low, and can still give a good ride. Not much for corner carving, but they can make a great GT car. Early MarkVIII>MarkVIII with baleen whale nose :greddy:

People can pick up these Cougars for cheap and really mod them without much money. Won't be 1/4 killers, but they'll stil be fast and offer a lot of comfort.

How? These are GT coupes, not corner carvers. If I were looking for a boulevard cruiser, then one of these would certainly make a great choice. Fast and inexpensive. Yeah, a little crude, but thats what the aftermarket is for.

Stock, these cars are ..ehhhh. But, with aftermarket addons, they can be real pimpalicious! Again, they aren't much for handeling, but they are great for crusing to see and be seen. Roomy and comfort make up for their other shortcomings...and they are cheap too.
