Jesus holy christ. My store brought in the Zeiss ZF series lenses (Nikon mount ). They gave them to me to shoot with for a couple days to see how they performed, and I am fucking FLOORED.

    I played with these three:
Zeiss Distagon T* 25/1.8: This is the best lens I've ever used. It is RETARDED sharp wide open, razor thin DOF, and next to no purple fringing or ghosting at all. I will buy this lens immediately. On top of the fact that is is beyond belief sharp, every time, it focuses as close as ONE INCH. It's so fucking badass.

Zeiss Distagon T* 35/2: Excellent lens, really, really sharp, but sometimes has a couple ghosting issues.

Zeiss Planar T* 50/1.4: Actually not all that impressed by this one.. pretty damn bad ghosting. It's nice and sharp, but the ghosting is really bothersome.

The build quality is unmatched, all metal everything, and the smoothest focus rings ever.

Here are some examples, make sure to go to my flickr to check out full sized.. it's fucking nuts. http://flickr.com/photos/dylanlynch/

They all come with a personally signed QC card with little check marks beside "Optical Quality", "Barrel Cleanliness", "Aperture", etc. Signed by a real Zeiss technician with a real pen

Just look at this 100% crop:

The only "downside" is that they're all manual focus, so it's no good for moving subjects. But after using it I can't NOT own the 25/2.8, it's just beautiful.

Aw man in your first post you posted a 25 f/1.8. I was so pumped, I wanted to buy it but it's 2.8! Those pictures are still really fucking sexy.
