I don't know about you guys but I, for one, embrace our upcoming Watchmen movie. From what I've read / heard it's going to be exactly everything the comic was. . .and then some.

It's supposedly going to be a pretty long flick, anyone who read the comics saw that one coming. Rumors state that the full length film will be "too long" for regular theatregoers to enjoy... so expect a DvD release with a film longer than 3 hours (not counting the bonus features).

I did some "digging" and got the following material lined up,
    Enjoy!

    Comic-to-Poster Comparisons:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Here's something I expect to wind up in the DvD specials:
Building the Owl Ship: VIDEO LINK!

    Some Screens, pretty kick ass:
    Becoming Dr. Manhattan -
    [IMG]

    Rorschach  -
    [IMG]

The Dark Kn-... Uh... Night Owl:

The scene that makes an 'R' rating unavoidable -
    [IMG]

And the scene that'll lose all of the feminist watchers -
    [IMG]

The Owl Ship & Night Owl -
    [IMG]

    The Comedian -
    [IMG]

    You know who -
    [IMG]

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian -
    [IMG]

Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl -
    [IMG]

    Matthew Goode as Ozymandias -
    [IMG]

Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach -
    [IMG]

Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre -
    [IMG]

And if you're up for some more reading here's a link to info on the DvD and how it'll be even longer than the 3 hour theatrical release... and may include an animated feature in a special release somewhere down the line

Oh, and before anyone says it, Alan Moore WILL hate it, and then he'll go back to practicing magic.

    He hates everything, lol..

Haven't read V, never will. I really really like the movie, don't want it ruined for me cause the book is way better or something, lol..

I did read a synopsis on wikipedia though, but it's been so long, I forgot it.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan could give it date-movie potential.

    Questions ~

Does Rorschach's mask shift around fluidly on-screen? And are the pirate tales somehow infused?

The mask does that in the teaser.

haha, oh yeah, great date movie potential. "yeah, see that guy you think is really hot? Yeah, McMuffin or something. That one. See that preggo asian broad? Check this out." Chicks totally dig that shit.

That being said, my gf is wicked pumped about this movie. I tried to withhold my nerdy fanboy excitement when she told me she saw and ad and thought it looked great.

side not #2: Ozy still looks like crap. Mathew Goode is just waaaay too scrawny looking. He's not imposing, he just looks like the guy in the group everyone picked on so much he finally snapped and decided to beam explosive fake aliens into the middle of New York to shut them up once and for all. Hopefully his onscreen demeanor will change my opinion on that one.

Nice. I wonder if it will be live-action or more like animated interludes.

I'm still contemplating reading the book before the movie, because I want to be able to take the movie for what it is and not get all fan boy on it :o

I have the series... I just haven't... looked at it yet.

Read the graphic novel over my business trip last week. It was awesome . Even the way the illustrations were drawn make it look like it was ready to be made into a movie once the special effects were possible :eek5:.

Oh, the Owl Ship's name was Archimedes :hs:

too bad it couldn't be integrated...like an afternoon cartoon that the mass public loved to watch, or something.

From what I've seen, I'll be at full mast come opening night. This is definitely one to go out for a midnight show on. I do wish they had Night Owl a little more on the pudgy side though. But I'mnot gonna nitpick and let anything spoil this- it really looks like they're gonna do justice to the series.
