If it's light (2700lbs-ish) and has an optional LSD it could be awesome
looks like a tc and a gtr and a 350z had an ugly ass baby
and an s2000
they put the steering wheel on the wrong side!
It would look good in person because the car is really small, supposedly shorter than the 2nd gen mr2.
just needs to get rid of that bumper, and if it was RWD... then FTW!!
that's not the joint-venture between toyota and subaru is it? i read about it a while back but haven't heard anything in quite some time
i cannot fucking STAND the roof line on that shit
i dont think so, the concepts for that looked more suburu than it did toyota
actually you know what... it is
as the same body liens
I lost faith in Toyota as far as enthusiast cars, and i'm split on the design.... but i don't like the styling of many modern cars.
It'll have to be extremely impressive as far as driving feel and performance for me to seriously consider it, but it'll probably be numb, boring and fat like most cars are now a days.
That said, I currently own a Subaru and a Toyota. :x
This is the split venture. The chassis is supposedly a shortened Impreza chassis, and the concept has an NA 2L Boxer engine.
That's a photoshop.
Here, they fixed it just for you
i kind of have high hopes
I want Toyota to get back to 90's status. <3 Supras and MR2s, but I don't think this can live up to those standards.
Nah supposed to be the new AE86 from what I have heard. Certainly not a Supra, very few motors can compete with 2JZ, that shit was damn near bulletproof.
That's the thing, there's no reason really that it couldn't handle like an s2000 (well, with struts instead of wishbones, but the m3 has struts and it is amazing so it could be done), except not quite as fast, and with a more usable powerband for the street. Combine that with good looks and solid build quality, and they might have something.
Is it? I thought I heard it was a new chassis. If it's really based on the impreza that's worrying.
The fact Toyota is run by terrible faggots is why it won't handle like an S2000.
I LIKE TURTLES
The Impreza doesn't have a bad chassis, but it's not going to be anything remarkable, like the purpose built S2000 chassis.
They're trying to hit the low-$ price point, and developing a whole new, one-off chassis isn't going to do that, even if thy do rob the parts-bin for the old Impreza engine and whatnot.
I'm so sick of this fucking shape. Enough with this shit already, I don't give a fuck how "aerodynamic" it is, it's fucking ugly.
