San Marcos Police Shoot, Kill Suspect

    Gregg Watson
    Reporting

(CBS 42) SAN MARCOS A San Marcos officer fired his weapon, killing a teen while responding to a domestic disturbance.

Police were called to 1000 Gravel Street shortly before 11 a.m. Monday. There they saw Christopher Jonathan Gonzales, 19, stabbing his mother in the neck with a fork. The officer, sometime during this incident, fired his weapon, hitting the male.

Police say they shot Gonzales because they believed his actions to be life threatening.

Gonzales was transported to the Central Texas Medical Center where he later died.

The woman was also transported to the Central Texas Medical Center. She was treated and released.

Neighbors say the family was always fighting.

This was not Gonzales' first brush with San Marcos police. In 2005 he was arrested for assault. Earlier this year, he was arrested for theft and evading arrest.

The officer who fired the fatal shots is 13-year veteran Tracy Frans. He is on administrative leave with pay.

I predict a follow up story, the mom will sue the police dept saying her son shouldn't of been shot although troubled, he was a good boy.
I say he deserved to be shot, what kind of sick bastard would fork his own mother.

That means they'll have to ban knives AND forks. They'll probably also ban spoons as a proactive measure. At least my people can eat with tortillas still. :hs:

chopsticks will have to be banned too, they can be quite dangerous.

Just think about it there millions, no probably billions of unregistered forks in this country, many easily accessable to children :noes: Someone needs to write Sarah Brady.

the average fork has 4 tines, that's 4 wounds per blow... i consider that an assault weapon... maybe modify them with more blunt tines, that can never hold a point... or make them single tine only... then a total ban, if attacks still happen.

At the VERY least we need serial numbers and registration of all forks in this country.
