I agree that the safest home is one without a gun. I have no doubt about it.

    I mean if I was a thief or a rapist. :o

only 150 children die a year from gun accidents, i am sure there are articles in houses that are much more deadly.

No, it's so the press can demonize the breed once it attacks a man. Then he can sue you for your dog attacking him. It doesn't matter the circumstances the press and the lawyers won't be confused by facts.

Doctors kill more people every year than guns do. So the safest home is the one without a Dr.?

Out of that, 120,000 deaths were caused by the doctor/physician.

accidental gun deaths each year, 1500. Hell, even if we added in ALL gun deaths, including gang on gang shooting and even police involved shootings of suspects it's at 30,000.

So I would rather live in the house with a gun than a Doctor. :)

Remember kids, if you are riding in a car on a bridge over water with a doctor driving...You Are FUCKED!!!

Pools for example. Swimming pools kill 4,000 people a year in the US alone. 16,000 are hospitalized for near drowning. Almost 50% of those are under the age of 14. Do you realize that ANYONE can just walk into a store that deals in pools and purchase a pool with NO BACKGROUND check at all? Not one state requires registration of pool owner ship with law enforcement agencies. Some of these pools hold 20,000 gallons or MORE and they typically LOSE about 5,000 gallons a year, and these losses are RARELY if EVER reported!

Somehow I just simply do not believe that the murder rate for various countries distributes like that. I know for a FACT that England and Wales do not sit at the top of the list as the safest place. I am willing to bet any amount of money that they have (surprise....) incorrectly worded the source of the figures. That is likely the deaths caused by firearms in each of those countries and in England and Wales you can't consider that as a valid comparison. Firstly, guns have never been the weapon choice, I would LOVE to see the comparison of knife related murders compared between there and the US though. Also, the rate of gun related homocides in the UK has been rapidly rising, even after they completely outlawed handguns and made long firearms even harder to get.

The other thing that I find interesting is that (if I'm not mistaken... if I am then please correct me) there are strict laws againt guns in DC which has the worst record for murders. Right next to that on the list is North Dakota, in which I'm going to guess there are a whole lot of people with guns, and they are the best for not killing each other! How does this support their argument...?

    I must disagree.

My HK has one body on it, because of a break in last year with my family at home. The bg had a .38 revolver and was a suspect in a series of rapes.

That gun saved the life of possibly everyone in the house along with maybe more people if he had not been stopped.

Unfortunatly there are still trials in session, so I really can not say more.
They just like to say that because of the accidental shoots that can happen if the person whom is armed in the house does not use good discression.

God damnit examples like this really piss me off. I hope someone high up in the justice system will come to their senses and realize what you had to do to protect yourself and your family.
