When trying to print something from my laptop (Vista) to the printer hooked up to my desktop (XP). Was working fine 2 days ago, but went to print something today and got the error message 'The RPC server is unavailable'.

Printer is shared, shows up on the laptop as being available, but won't print.

Go through the steps of setting up the print sharing all over again, it may just be a firewall issue or something

Tried that, rebooted both machines and it's the same.

I can access all the other shared files no problems, on both machines. I can ping the desktop by name and IP with no problem also, so I know I have it set up right, just can't print from the Vista laptop.

Go to control panel->administrative tools->services and make sure the 2 remote procedure call (RPC) services are running...
