Here's my thoughts on the 205 title situation. I'm making some assumptions here, nothing farfetched. Firstly, Evans will beat Griffin to become the new 205 champ. Griffin's biggest strenght in the Rampage plan was his couture gameplan. That won't be the case vs Evans, as Jackson's camp is the only camp with better gameplanning than couture. I see this being either a decision win, or late round stoppage via TKO/KO for Evans. Forrest doesn't have the KO power or wrestling to keep Evans at bay. Rashad has a big speed advantage and will fight the smarter fights. Secondly, Wanderlei is going to hurt Rampage something fierce. Again. Silva is in a much better frame of mind, have you seen him not grinning ear to ear in the past year? Coupled with his excellent training reand renewed sense of self from his victory over Jardine, he is going to overwhelm Rampage once again. Let's face it, Rampage is a basket case, was was overhyped, and is in for a thrasing. Logically, this would set up Evans vs W.Silva sometime in April. Wanderlei takes this fight, either by a submission off his back, or axe murdering KO. Evans has never fought anyone nearly as aggressive as Silva (Liddell is typically a counterpuncher) and will be overwhelmed if he doesn't take the fight to silva. Silva's first (and only) defense will be against Machida. (A.silva will defer 'his' shot to Machida, and will only fight in the 'marquee' 205 bouts). Machida will play the matador to Silva's raging bull and get a close, but unanimous decision. Assuming this fight happens sometime in August we will have had five 205 champs in a year and a half This is a totally awesome scenario, and is a result of the UFC having the 205 market cornered. And who knows, Arona might throw his hat in the right and get a fortouitous shot against Machida this time next year. Anyways, highly speculative post - this forum needs more MMA talk and less talk of turkeys and advertising. Lets hear some other opinions!
