    if he'd of only gone a few over, he wouldn't have gained so much fat.

    Well without seeing his complete diet we can't say that with 100% confidence.

    We only saw snippets of what he ate. He may have only eaten ice cream if so the problem is a bit more than just excess calories.

    For all I know he was taking in 7000 cals of crap.

    I think what people are missing here is that its ok to eat crap after certain nutritional requirments have been met.

    If he eats 100grams of protien in a day then the rest of his cals come from poptarts mt dew and candy, its not ok that is taking a good thing way to far.

    sure its not ideal, but the fat gains are proportional to the amount he exceeded his caloric requirements by

    He is just taking in way to many calories

    hence the staple recommendation of starting at a little over maintenance and adding as needed.

    i don't understand why you didnt at least start lowering if you were getting so fat.
