[is because they can't afford a 911]
i'd rather have an RX-7
Which is the reason that Porsche created the car
I think so. I've driven a Boxster S and it was pretty impressive though...
At my dealership, I saw 2 middle age like late 30s guys who probably made about 80k a year, looking at a 350z vert and talking about a boxster.
They are just looking for image, and have no clue about actual fast cars. For those select few, the boxster still isnt that bad though.
And S2000 is about just as fast.
BUT, what if they own a Lamborghini too
Yeah, that and the fact that it's better than anything else in its class. I'm assuming you're saying this because you watched the Top Gear vid. Did you also notice that they said the Boxster is what the 911 used to be: lightweight, nimble, balanced. It has all of the magic of a 911 without driving like a rear-engined car. What's not to like?
I'm not saying it's a bad car... I'm just saying that the people who buy it would rather have a 911
Compared to what?
top gear > *
I like the car. i just thought it was funny how Clarkson is so adamant about this fact
"its sporty! its got no suspension! its sporty!"
I'll bet at least 50% of the damn women I see driving them don't care. They bought it because it looks cute, just like the women who buy S2000's, then sell them 3 months later because the ride is too rough.
top gear is on tv in 3 days
The problem is that, it is not better than "everything" in it's class.
"HAY GUYS! ITS SPORTY!"
we don't have it in the states
only good boxter is the boxter S, and the only time the boxter S is good is when its on a race track with lots of curves
the boxster has an exposed anus, like a cat
not really comparing it to anything. I just thought it handled nicely and the engine note was awesome. IMO the S2000 offers a more visceral driving experience.
